## Principles

- **Isolation**: Each test is independent — no shared mutable state
- **Mocking**: Hardware access (USB, SCSI, HID) is fully mocked
- **Fast**: Full suite runs in ~2 seconds
- **CI-safe**: Tests work as root (CI) and regular user (dev)
